Bala Venkatesan has 14 years of IT experience in developing web-based software solutions. As an early team member of Overture he has played pivotal roles in the design, architecture and development of our more complex financial transaction processing solutions. As the lead of our technology team he provides strategic input, tactical planning and direction to all our initiatives. In addition, he brings expertise from having managed large and complex software implementations for universities and state agencies. Most recently, he led the product design and solution architecture for a publicly facing financial loan calculator.

Bala holds a B.S in Computer Science from University of Madras and a Masters in Technology Management from University of Maryland. Prior to joining Overture, he worked at Sengen Inc. developing web-based B2B solutions selling insurance products for technology companies. At US Interactive, Bala was part of the team that worked on developing an online auction site to compete with EBay and UBid. At Sun Microsystems, he led the effort to certify Swing API as 100% pure Java.
